Transport interrupted by downpour in Dar

  • The Tanzania Meteorological Agency (TMA) has already forecasted episodes of more than normal rains in some parts of the country including coastal areas.

Dar es Salaam. Heavy downpour in some parts of Dar es Salaam have caused serious problems to transportation systems, leaving hundreds of commuters stranded.

Spot checks by MCL Digital along Kilwa Road has witnessed many commuters stuck in many bus stops, with rain still pounding.

The situation was worse at Mbagala area when once a commuter bus arrived a battle to get inside started.

 

 

"This has become a chronic problem. I am here since 6am and many busses just pass because they are full. I don’t know how I am going to get to my workplace with this rain,” lamented one of the stranded passengers.

Vehicles were also moving with problem along the Kilwa Road, resulting into long queues.
