Speaking to The Citizen from the scene, Geita Regional Police Commander (RPC), Mr Mponjoli Mwabulambo confirmed occurrence of the accident.


Geita. Several people are feared dead and scores injured following an accident involving, a salon car and King Msukuma Bus Service plying between Mwanza and Bukoba in Kagera Region.

Reports from the scene say the accident happened on Sunday morning, June 17, 2018 at Buharahara area in Kasamwa, Geita District.

Speaking to The Citizen from the scene, Geita Regional Police Commander (RPC), Mr Mponjoli Mwabulambo confirmed occurrence of the accident.

“I can’t immediately establish the number of deaths and injuries because the rescue mission is underway. What I can do is confirm the occurrence of the accident,” said the RPC in a telephone interview while he was at the scene.

Mr Mwabulambo promised to address a press conference and provide every detail after completing the rescue exercise.

King Msukuma buses are owned by Geita Rural Member of Parliament, Mr Joseph Kasheku popularly known as Msukuma.
