Dar es Salaam: Plans are underway to launch Azam mobile network throughout the country in a few months, The Citizen has learnt.

Trading as Azam Telecom (T) limited, a part of the Bakhresa Group of Companies, owned by Said Salim Bakhresa, the new telecom is expected to provide affordable, superior telecommunication services in Tanzania. 

Speaking today with The Citizen, Bakhresa Group Corporate Affairs Director Hussein Sufian Ally said the company will expand on the diversity of the Bakhresa group sharing the same vision to provide high quality services at very affordable rates for all Tanzanians.

Among recent milestones is successful acquisition of wavelength granted to the company by TCRA.  Notably, the 2 x 5 MHZ allocation which will enable Azam Telecommunications  to provide high speed internet (popularly known as 4G) services among others common Telecom services. 

Azam Mobile will also provide other innovative solutions in the communication world as plans are underway to deploy the latest technologies.

“We are excited for the future understanding we are venturing into one of the most competitive sectors in the country,” said Mr Ally.
