Underprivileged communities get support

Dar es Salaam. QNET, a world leading direct-selling company, has joined hands with its independent representatives (IRs) to bring cheer to various underprivileged communities in marking the holy month of Ramadhan in 13 African countries.

The company said in a statement yesterday that this annual campaign aims to enrich the lives of many and is aligned with the company’s philosophy – Raise Yourself to Help Mankind (RYTHM).

The basic teachings of RYTHM have always been focusing on going above and beyond, to care for the less fortunate by providing better living conditions for them, especially children who are the symbol of our future.

This year’s Ramadhan campaign in Africa will see collaboration among QNET employees, agents and Independent Representativespooling in their efforts to organisea month-long series of charity activities in countries such as Ivory Coast, Togo, Cameroon, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Tanzania, Niger, Uganda, Chad, Mali, Ghana and Senegal.

In Tanzania, the Ramadhan charity event will see donation of rice, pasta, sugar and groceries to Maunga Children’s Centre in Dar es Salaam. There are 54(number of children/Residents) at MaungaChildren;s Centre which was established in 2008.

The home is currently managed by Ms Zainabu Bakary and relies on public donations to sustain expenses towards the food and drink requirements of the children.

Commenting on the event this year, Mr Trevor Kuna, QNET CEO said, “Ramadhan charity campaign has been one of our key campaigns every year. It is indeed a very meaningful, heart-warming and fulfilling initiative for QNET. Such campaigns promote empowerment of the community and are also very inspiring for our staff and our IRs to be personally involved in enriching the lives of others.”
