Mwanza. President John Magufuli on Saturday August 18 visited the Bugando Zonal Referral hospital in Mwanza city.
He travelled to Mwanza on the same day aboard Air Tanzania’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.
Ahead of the president’s arrival at the Lake Zone’s largest health facility, security was heightened, sources say.
Mwanza Regional Commissioner’s vehicle was packed in the hospital’s compound, signifying the high presence of leaders who were prepared to host the president.
Soon after Dr Magufuli left the hospital building, he spoke to a number of pupils from Mongella Primary School.
That’s where he revealed that he had gone to the hospital to visit a sick relative.
“I will come back some other day and speak to you…today I came here to visit a sick relative who is admitted at this hospital,’’ said Dr Magufuli.
