Dar es Salaam. Mwananchi Communications Limited (MCL) has launched its digital studio for online broadcasting services.

Officiating the launch at MCL head offices at Tabata Relini in Dar es Salaam on Thursday, Nation Media Group’s (NMG) Chief Executive Officer Joe Muganda commended MCL for the initiative, given the advancement of technology and the constant need for information and content generation.

The event was also attended by MCL’s board of directors members , management and staff.

“The journey you have embarked on is important towards remaining relevant in the ever changing media landscape. We need to share this story within and outside the group,” he emphasized.

MCL chairman Leonard Mususa said the studio will enable company services to reach more people in a short time.

“This studio is crucial for MCL’s digital transformation, and it would go a long way towards meeting the demands of the audience,” he observed.

In his welcoming remarks, MCL Executive Editor Bakari Machumu said the facility comes in handy to add more value to MCL production of online video programmes aired through Youtube channel, MCL Digital. The programmes include MCL Magazetini, MCL Matukio, MCL Extra and Kona ya Mwanaspoti.

The studio will also be used for analyses, talk shows and interviews with special guests.

MCL is the publisher of The Citizen, Mwananchi and Mwanaspoti newspapers.

Its digital platforms include www.thecitizen.co.tz; www.mwananchi.co.tz; www.facebook.com/@TheCitizenTanzania; twitter.com/@TheCitizenTZ; www.instagram.com/Mwananchiofficial.
