Police have confiscated my mobile phone, says Zitto

What you need to know:

Mr Kabwe revealed this to journalists when speaking shortly after he reported to the police at Kamata.

Police on Tuesday, November 7, confiscated Aliance for Change and Transparency (ACT)-Wazalendo chief Zitto Kabwe's mobile phone as part of investigations.

Mr Kabwe revealed this to journalists when speaking shortly after he reported to the police at Kamata.

"They have confiscated my mobile phone for investigations. However, in my experience, it is not uncommon for police to hold a suspect's property while investigation is still ongoing," he said.

Mr Kabwe was on Tuesday interrogated by the police for allegedly uttering seditious statements against the government. He is accused of violating the Cybercrime Act and Statistics Act.

After being interrogated for over two hours, Mr Kabwe was instructed to report back on November 21, this year, for further questioning.
