Registrar to verify all NGOs

What you need to know:

The move, according to public statement released by the Registrar, was meant to update the list of all NGO’s, improve database and verify the NGOs’ activities.

Dar es Salaam. Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO’s) registrar is set to make verification of all non governmental organisations (NGOs) from August 21 to 31 this year.

The move, according to public statement released by the Registrar, was meant to update the list of all NGO’s, improve database and verify the NGOs’ activities.

The exercise, the statement further states, would be held in five zones namely Eastern zone, central zone, northern zone, lake zone and southern highlands zone.

“During the exercise, each NGO, among others, would have to submit the original and a copy of the registration certificate, to fill the verification form and submit the all-time annual fee payment slips,” states a statement in part.

NGOs which will skip the exercise would be at risk of being deregistered, according to the statement.

“In a bid to provide a room for the bank of statistics to revitalize the database, there would be no registration of new NGO’s with effect from 21 August to 30 November,” noted a part of the statement.
