Esther Matiko wins Tarime Parliamentary Seat

Tarime. Ms Esther Matiko (Chadema) has been declared a winner for the Tarime Urban constituency after scooping 20,017 votes against 14,025 of Mr Michael Kembaki (CCM).
Ms Matiko was announced a winner by Acting Tarime District Executive Director Mr Juma Mwanjombe who dubbed as a returning officer for the constituency.
The former Special Seat Mp edged out Mr Kembaki and Mr Deogratius Meck (ACT-Wazalendo) who garnered a total of 356 votes.
Speaking to journalists shortly after she was declared a winner Ms Matiko thanked Tarime resident for voting for her. Ms Matiko vowed to implement all the promises she made to Tarime residents during campaign rallies.
Ms Matiko said she will serve all Tarime electorates regardless of their political affiliations.
“During the campaign rallies I promised Tarime residents that I will work with them to economically develop our constituency; I just want to assure them that I will honor the promise,” said Ms Matiko.
