Kenya diva Nyota Ndogo,30, will today headline a performance for the members of Parliament in Dodoma alongside other local acts.

The singer was earlier in the country and performed at the Zanzibar International Film festival but had to cut short her stay last week because of malaria attack.

According to organisers the Mombasa born singer will perform alongside local acts like Barnaba, Linah, Mwasiti, at Royal Village in Tanzania’s capital town Dodoma.

“Everything has been set and Nyota Ndogo arrives today and she has promised a great show for the legislators,” said a source.

The gig will set the tempo for the upcoming Serengeti Fiesta performance tomorrow at the Jamuhuri Stadium where thousands are expected to attend.

Nyota Ndogo has released three albums: Chereko, Nimetoka Mbali and Mpenzi, She won Kisima Award for best taarab singer in 2003 and Best female singer in 2005.

She was nominated for the Best Kenyan female artiste at the 2007 PAM Awards.  Her song Watu na Viatu was nominated for the best East African song at the 2007 Tanzania Music Awards.
