Firms urged to support education
By Felix Mwera, Musoma
Mara regional commissioner Issa Machibya has commended Grumeti Reserves for supporting education.
He was speaking here after the US hunting company contributed Sh5 million to Kowaki Girls Secondary School of Rorya district.
The company has also allocated $20,000 to educate bright students from poor families living around its lodges in the Serengeti National Park.
"Other companies should emulate Grumeti Reserves in contributing to social services such as education and health," Mr Machibya said.
Kowaki board chairperson Margaret Chambiri said the donation would improve learning at the school.
