The title unification bout pitting the UBO middleweight champion, Francis Cheka and Argentine Enrico Areco will now take place at PTA Hall in Dar es Salaam, the Pugilist Syndicate of Tanzania (PST) said yesterday.
The PST's president, Emanuel Mlundwa said the bout was earlier scheduled for Uhuru Stadium on December 19, but they decided to shift the venue for security reasons.
He said the duo will fight after the two boxing organisations met and agreed to unite the UBO and WBC titles.
"Whoever will emerge victorious will be crowned king of both boxing categories,"Mlundwa said.
The official warned Cheka of the threat posed by the Argentine who also holds an impressive record. Areco won the WBC belt after humbling Fermin Vargas Quinones of Paraguay.
Cheka has been undergoing arduous training since last month, readying for the looming tricky bout.
"I'm progressing well with training and I'm confident by early December I’ll be fit to fight any top boxer,"hopeful Cheka said.
Mlundwa said: "We've faith in him, but he has to train harder in order to win and extend his unbeaten streak."
"He has won the hearts of many fans of recent, thus he has to avoid letting them down by hook or by crook," he stressed.
The Morogoro based boxer also holds the International World Circuit Boxing (ICB) middleweight title.
Cheka has played 25 bouts, winning 18, 12 by knockout, six loses, three by knockout and one draw while his adversary has 43 wins, 13 by knockout, 15 loses, six by knockout and seven draws.
On the undercard, Mbwana Matumla will take on Sunday Kizito in the 12-round bantamweight bout.
