Mainland champions Simba have invited The Express of Uganda for a friendly during the Simba Day bonanza planned for August 8 at Uhuru Stadium. The club’s administrative officer, Evodius Mtawala, said The Express would arrive in Dar es Salaam on August 6. He said Simba’s under-20 side will play Azam FC in the curtain raiser match. According to him, the will use the occasion to unveil their 2010/11 kit, website, calendar and introducing new players. Meanwhile, Simba SC executive committee has requested head coach Patrick Phiri to submit an online resignation letter. Mtawala said by doing so it would help them hire a new coach from Serbia. Cirkovic Milovan, who coached Simba three seasons ago, is set to return as the head coach. Phiri has yet to report for his duties and Simba are at crossroads to hire another trainer as the Zambian’s contract is still valid. |
