Govt ready to fund Lissu’s treatment abroad: minister

Dar es Salaam. Minister of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children Ummy Mwalimu has said the government is ready to pay for the treatment of Singida East MP Tundu Lissu abroad.

She said support would be offered if Mr Lissu family agreed and the doctors recommended further treatment abroad.

He is receiving treatment at a Nairobi hospital. The treatment is funded by his part Chadema and some contributions raised by well-wishers within and outside the country. 

Lissu was shot in the assassination attempt by an unidentified assailant in Dodoma on September 7at his Dodoma residence in Area D as he was coming from  Parliament.
