African leaders are using the ongoing United Nations General Assembly to push for an end to a two-decade-long Western embargo against Zimbabwe, arguing that the sanctions are hurting ordinary people and the region.

Senegalese President Macky Sall, the African Union (AU) chairperson, led the charge in his address at the UNGA77 session on Tuesday, saying the sanctions should be removed immediately so that Zimbabwe can realise its full potential.
