District hospital gets much needed equipment funding

Nachingwea. Nachingwea MP, Mr Hassan Masala (CCM) has promised to use Sh15 million to buy hospital equipment for Nachingwea District hospital.

The MP who visited the hospital on Tuesday said there were many challenges that need to be solved not only by the government but all wananchi including politicians.

“It is obvious that our hospital needs support from everyone, whoever is capable to contribute should do so to help others,” he said.

He added that Sh15 million will be allocated to the hospital from part of the amount he received as an MP for purchasing a car.

He asked the hospital administration to make a clear analysis on the needed equipment so that they could be ordered within a week.

Nachingwea District Hospital acting Chief Medical officer, Rehema Kichukwi told the MP that the hospital lacks medical equipment and medicines.

“ The government has allocated Sh33 million for all requirement in this hospital, out of that 70 percent of the allocated amount is for buying medicine, 5 percent for dental clinic equipment, 10 percent for hospital supplies, 7.5 percent for laboratory equipment and 7.5 for other equipment,” she said.
