Dar es Salaam. To document success stories and their impact on shaping Tanzania’s narrative as a country, Serengeti Bytes launched the inaugural 100 Tanzanian Changemakers List of 2023.

This curated compilation illuminates the exceptional efforts of people who are steering positive change in Tanzania, transcending boundaries, and inspiring transformation across diverse sectors.

Kennedy Mmari, the CEO of Serengeti Bytes, who doubles as an editor of the list, underscored the profound impact of change on progress and growth.

“The Changemakers List aims to honour those who have devoted themselves to creating positive change, illustrating the immense power ordinary citizens and those in positions of power possess to shape the world around them,” he said.

Innovation, the heartbeat of every changemaker’s journey, takes centre stage in the Changemakers List.

Mmari expressed, “Their ability to think differently, challenge norms, and find creative solutions to complex problems sets them apart. This list showcases the cutting-edge ideas and groundbreaking projects that inspire others to pursue innovation in their own lives.”

Michael Mallya, the Chief Operating Officer of the company and editor of the list, provided insights into the diverse stories encapsulated within the Changemakers List.

“From social entrepreneurs revolutionising education to environmental activists advocating for sustainability, each story is a testament to the power of passion and perseverance. These are individuals who have chosen to challenge the status quo and create a lasting impact,” he said.

Fostering collaboration emerges as one of the overarching goals of the initiative, recognising that meaningful change often requires a collective effort.

Mallya stated: “The list brings together individuals from different walks of life, which in turn encourages cross-sectoral and cross-disciplinary partnerships. By highlighting successful individuals and their endeavours, we hope to inspire them to unite, share knowledge, and work together towards a better future.”

The Changemakers List is a testament to the indomitable spirit of individuals who refuse to put limits on what they can achieve. It is a celebration of the relentless pursuit of a better Tanzania, no matter the scale of change.

Mallya concluded: “Through their extraordinary actions, these changemakers inspire us all to step up, make a difference, and be the change we wish to see in the world.”
