Bluefins top in FK Blue Marlins swimming championships

Dar es Salaam. Bluefins Swim Club have emerged at the top of the FK Blue Marlins Swimming Championships held at the FK Secondary School pool in the city.
The championships featured 12 other clubs, and Bluefins collected 1,441 points to take the overall trophy at the exciting event.
The championships saw Taliss-IST Swim Club finish in the second position with 1,078 points, and the third place was held by Dar Swim Club (DSC), who scored 1,025 points. Bluefins swimmers won a total of 62 medals that included 19 gold, 21 silver, and 22 bronze.
The club’s Abbas Abdulali won five gold and two silver medals, while Zainab Moosajee won four gold and three silver, and Aaliya Takim collected four gold and one silver.
Other swimmers with their medals into brackets are Avinav Mahapatra (3 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze), Kabeer Lakhani (3 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze), Imaan Kimario (1 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze), Kaysan Kachra (1 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze), and Camilla Kyenekiki who won one gold, two silver, and two bronze.
Others are Jay Badiani (3 silver and one bronze), Shuneal Bharwani (3 silver and 1 bronze), Taher Zavery (2 silver and 2 bronze), Fatema Manji (2 silver and 1 bronze), Sakina Abdulali (2 silver), Adnan Hassanali (1 silver), Rayyan Kassam (1 silver), and Burhanuddin Mustansir, who won one silver.
The list also includes Burhanuddin Hatim (one silver), Sakina Manji (1 bronze), and Burhanuddin Jivajee, who won five bronze medals.
Bluefins swimmers, who also won overall trophies are Abbas Abdulali (winner for boys aged 13–14), Avinav Mahaptra (1st runner-up for boys aged 15 and above), Imaan Mfaume (2nd runner-up for girls aged 9–10), Zainab Moosajee (2nd runner-up for girls aged 11–12), Aaliya Takim (2nd runner-up for girls aged 15 and above), Kabeer Lakhani (1st runner-up for boys aged 11–12), Kaysan Kachra (2nd runner-up for boys aged 11–12), and Taher Zavery (2nd runner-up for boys aged eight and under).
The club’s head trainer and founder, Rahim Alidina, said, "We are extremely happy that our swimmers put up a splendid show to emerge in the top position in this gala.”
