Top women's football teams to compete for Arusha’s Samia Cup

Dar es Salaam. Leading women teams in the country, Simba Queens, JKT Queens, Yanga Princes and Fountain Gate Princess, will compete in the special Samia Cup scheduled to take place in Arusha region next month.
That has been revealed by Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) through its statement issued by Communications Officer, Cliford Ndimbo.
Ndimbo said that they have received an official invitation from the Office of the Arusha Regional Commissioner to participate in the highly anticipated Samia Women Super Cup 2025.
He said the exciting tournament is set to showcase the finest talent in women’s football and marks a significant milestone in the development of the sport in Tanzania.
“This inaugural competition will bring together the top four teams from the 2024/2025 Tanzania Women’s Premier League (TWPL): Fountain Gate Princess, JKT Queens, Simba Queens, and Yanga Princess. The teams have consistently demonstrated outstanding performances in the league and will now battle for supremacy in Arusha,” said Ndimbo.
He said the tournament is scheduled to kick off on March 4, 2025, at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium and the winners will advance to the grand finale.
The third-place playoff and the final match are set to be played on March 6 at the same venue.
“All participating teams are expected to arrive in Arusha on Sunday, March 2, 2025, ensuring ample time for preparation and acclimatization,” he said.
