Dar es Salaam. The Dar es Salaam Rapid Transit Agency (Dart) has designated 30 rapid transit buses to serve city residents during the 47th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF).
The buses will operate from Gerezani area to Mbagala to comb transport chaos to residents wishing to visit the pavilions.
Dart’s Public Relations Manager, Mr William Gatambi told The Citizen yesterday the new route would include four picking and packing passenger bus stops. The Bus stops include Sabasaba, Mbangala Mission, Zakhem and Mbangala Rangitatu.
“The operations which officially start today, June 27 to July 14 th services are specifically for the 47th DITF 2023,”he said.
Mr Gatambi urged wananchi to purchase their tickets online to avoid congestion at bus stops.
“There is no need to go to the bus station without a ticket. We have in place an app dubbed Mwendokasi App, one just has to download the app and the ticket online. So when you come to the station your ticket will be scanned and you enter the bus,” he said.
Themed “Tanzania; Your Best Destination for Business and Investment,” this year’s DITF is set to open more doors for the international communities to penetrate the market of the 300 million consumers of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and 400 million of the East African Community (EAC). Tanzania is a founding member and partner state of the SADC and the EAC, respectively.
DITF brings together local and international exhibitors from the public and private sectors to showcase a wide range of products and engage in business meetings in view of seeking trade and investment opportunities in Tanzania.
Over the years, the DITF has been a critical gateway to the international business community interested in trade and investment in the landlocked countries bordering Tanzania.
