Exim expands in Comoros

Anjouan. Exim Bank Tanzania has opened its fourth branch in Domoni, Anjouan.

The move is aimed at taking banking services closer to customers in the Comoros .

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony at the weekend, the governor of Anjouan, Mr Anissi Chamsidine, congratulated the Exim Bank for bringing its services closer to the people of Domoni and reaching the unbanked communities.

“I would like to applaud Exim Bank for its efforts to bring its banking services closer to the people of Domoni. The bank’s customer-friendly approach and innovation in the services offered have been remarkable and should be an example for other banks to emulate,” said Mr Anissi.

He said the launch of the Domoni branch would enable the Exim Bank in Comoros to strengthen its financial services platform.

He reiterated that the branch would enable the entire population of Domoni to access banking services, which include inward and outward remittances and access to credits at reasonable interest rates.

“With this branch, it means the services have been brought closer to the people of Domoni, This will be the opportunity for them to access high-quality services the bank offers. I would like to urge Domoni people to use this opportunity by opening accounts with the bank which will ensure safety of their money and they will also enjoy other services offered by the bank,” he said.

According to him, Exim Bank is also committed to bringing in the best technology for the benefit of the Comorian people. He stated that Exim Bank would roll out new technology products in the near future.

Exim opened the first branch in the island at Moroni in 2007, with branches being followed in Mitsamudu in Anjouan and Moheli, covering all the islands.
