What you need to know:

  • Over the past four years, the Consumer Choice Award Africa has managed to reach thousands of consumers across Africa through digital networks.

Dar es Salaam. Over 70 businesses and brands are set to compete in different categories during this year’s Consumer Choice Award Africa (CCAA).

CCAA is a springboard to raising consumer voices and satisfaction of various services and products in the market.

It is Africa’s business and corporate recognition platform for product and service providers through the consumer votes.

CCAA managing director, Diana Laizer, said 22 main categories and 70 subcategories will be featured in this year’s summit.

She was speaking during the official launch of the awards over the weekend,

The categories include logistics, telecoms, aviation, financial services, real estate, insurance, oil and gas, hotel and hospitality, security, fast-moving consumer goods, event and décor, fashion and design, and photography.

“It is high time companies and brands participate and engage their consumers during this year’s awards campaign,” said Ms Laizer.

She pointed out that over the past four years, they had managed to reach thousands of consumers across Africa through digital networks.

They collected their opinions through online platforms leading to not less than 70 awards honoured each year by the consumers, she added.

Commenting on the selection process she noted that the winners of different categories are obtained through online nominations.

Consumers, she explained, have the room to nominate by filling in the online nomination forms created in CCAA website with the listed categories and subcategories.

“After receiving suggestions of participants in different categories, our team works internally in sorting the names and categories and evaluates each suggestion made in reference to the criteria for each award.

The final list is uploaded to the voting site for the consumer selection and preference.

She elaborated that voting is conducted for not less than 25 days and consumers can vote only once for each subcategory.

Ms Laizer further noted that after the voting period is over, the system automatically displays the results according to the majority votes.

Nominations for 2023 are officially open from June 18 to July 9 and voting shall be announced later on this year.
