Dr. Obed Hugh Ligate is a Tanzanian living in the United States. Backed by years of professional experience, Dr. O. H. Ligate presently excels as the co-founder and director of the Liz & Pete Educare Academy a preschool in Kimara Temboni in Dar-es-salaam that caters to ages 2 to 5. In this capacity, he manages all aspects of the business process, including staffing, the development and implementation of a performance-based staff evaluation system, school expansion activities and more.
Since establishing the Academy in 2020, he increased enrollment from 2 students to 53 students by deploying peer-to-peer marketing and the power of social network platforms.
In addition to his work with the Academy, Dr. O. H. Ligate is an adjunct business professor at George Mason University, a leading university in Virginia, United States. From 2019, he has taught management courses to undergraduate students while consistently registering high student outcomes.
During the early stages of his career, Dr. O.H. Ligate gained valuable expertise as a sales professional in petroleum products distribution, a marketing manager for cement production both in emerging markets. Later, he transitioned to work in the semiconductor industry in the United States and was a process engineer for more than a decade. As a process engineer, he has worked on several process improvement projects that have added value to the company’s processes.
Due to the vast breadth of knowledge, he has gleaned through his career, he has authored several publications, including his recent book “Path to Sustainable Development: An African Vantage Point” which proposes strategies that African countries may adopt to accelerate achievement of the Sustainable development goals by 2030.

Dr. O. H. Ligate is an expert in his field and serves on several editorial boards as he channels his expertise to the next generation of scholars.
Dr. O. H. Ligate holds a Bachelor of Science in chemical and process engineering from the University of Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, a Master in Business Administration from Birmingham City University in the United Kingdom, and a Doctor of Business Administration and Management from the University of North America in the United States.
Looking ahead, Dr. O. H. Ligate intends to experience continued success in his career. Ultimately, he aims to expand the academy to a primary school by 2024.
