What’s Next for Harmonize as Konde Music Empties Out

What you need to know:

  • The label he built from scratch in 2020 as a bold declaration of independence and artistic control is now empty.

With every artiste once signed under Konde Music Worldwide now gone, including longtime signee Ibraah, Harmonize finds himself at a pivotal crossroads.

The label he built from scratch in 2020 as a bold declaration of independence and artistic control is now empty.

No roster. No distractions. Just Harmonize and the next bold move.

In a heartfelt video shared on Instagram, the Konde Gang boss addressed Ibraah’s departure directly, setting the record straight about how things unfolded.

“First of all, let me acknowledge that my younger brother sent me a message and asked to leave the label and become an independent artist,” says Harmonize. “I replied to him directly and told him, ‘I wish you all the best.’”

He went on to explain that their contract required payment for full rights to master recordings. However, he chose to release Ibraah without demanding the fee.

“I wouldn’t want my own money to become the reason my name gets tarnished. So I did my best. I truly wish him all the best. I love him very much. Please support him, he is now an independent artiste as we speak.”

That moment wasn’t just about releasing an artist; it felt like a metaphor for letting go of more than just a contract.

Fans were quick to respond. Across social media, many praised Harmonize’s gesture, calling it a sign of maturity and leadership. Others urged him to take this moment to focus entirely on his own music

“He has done more than enough,” writes a fan under Jeshi’s video post. “Time to stop fixing everyone’s careers and focus on his own growth.”

Another echoed similar sentiments, “Let the music speak now. We’re ready for the old Harmonize, the hitmaker, the storyteller.”

It’s a turning point in Harmonize’s journey. The label, once home to artistes like Ibraah, Anjella, Country Wizzy, and Killy, has undergone a complete transformation. O

One by one, the signees exited, some quietly, others amidst online buzz.

Now, the label stands stripped down, and its founder is more focused than ever.

In a recent interview with Millard Ayo, Harmonize confessed to the toll that juggling two demanding roles had taken on him.

The stress of being both a label boss and an artist had begun to cloud his creativity.

“It’s not easy,” he admits. “Being an artiste and running a label at the same time can take away from the music. Sometimes, you don’t even have time to write or feel inspired.”

Now, free from the weight of managing other talents, Harmonize is expected to shift gears. Some say he is stepping into a new phase, leaner and more intentional, and with a global vision.

Sandra Brown, a key member of Harmonize’s management team, spoke firmly in a statement that hinted at a broader industry shakeup:

“As I step into the leadership role here (and this is not how I envisioned starting), a lot will happen and a lot will change. But first, LET’S CLEAN HOUSE.”

That phrase, ‘clean house’, was more than just a management directive.

It’s a signpost, signalling a new beginning not only for Harmonize but also for the label and perhaps even the Tanzanian music industry at large.

The artiste’s recent moves, clearing the Konde roster, forgiving debts, and publicly addressing misunderstandings, are being viewed as part of a calculated strategy to rebrandnd re-emerge.

Some fans have even suggested he take the opportunity to reimagine the Konde brand, drop a documentary or EP that tells his side of the story, or even put the label on hold indefinitely.

“Harmonize has built others. Now it’s time to build himself,” one comment read. “Konde Boy deserves the world stage.”

Indeed, whispers within his circle suggest this is no longer just a local play.

The tone of his recent messaging supports this. From the raw, street-smart energy of Kwangwaru to the vulnerability of Single Again, Harmonize has consistently evolved.

And now, with the noise of label management behind him, he seems poised to step fully into his artistry, with clarity and control.

Though he hasn’t officially confirmed, fans and industry insiders are reading between the lines.

The Konde Music reset, his public support for Ibraah, and the call for industry reform all point to a conscious and strategic reinvention.

Whether he rebuilds Konde Music, signs new talent in the future, or pivots entirely to his solo career, the spotlight is back where it started on the artiste.

Harmonize is no longer just the leader of a music empire. He is an artiste in transformation, with a story to tell and something new to prove.

The past may have been marked by mentorship, pressure, and tough decisions. But the future? It looks like the perfect stage for a powerful comeback.
