Bolt Tanzania appoints its new manager

Dar es Salaam. On-demand transport platform, Bolt has appointed Charles Matondane as the country manager for its Tanzania operations. The company said yesterday that Mr Matondane – who has worked in technology operations across Africa and Europe for 17 years – offers a wealth of experience and a track record of success to his new role.

The statement that was availed to the media yesterday describes Mr Matondane as an expert in the building of cutting-edge solutions and in developing high-performing teams across 15 African countries in sectors including telecoms, media, insurance, mobile money, and payments services.

During his career, Charles has worked with esteemed international organizations such as Vodacom, Tigo, Velti Plc. (Greece), Kirusa Inc. (USA), and Apollo Group (Kenya).

“We are confident that his contributions will further strengthen our position as a leader in the ride-hailing industry,” said the Bolt regional manager for East and Southern Africa, Mr Takura Malaba.

Speaking on his appointment, Charles promised to use his experience to revolutionise the ride-hailing industry in Tanzania.

“With a focus on digital transformation and emerging markets, I am excited to drive efficiency and create impactful solutions for Bolt’s customers and stakeholders,” he said.

Charles holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business & IT, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Data Science & Business Analytics. He also has achieved the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst Level One Certificate from the esteemed CFA Institute.
