Foreign investors dominate transaction of TBL shares

Foreign investors have continued to change hands Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL) shares, after recording a transaction of Sh3 billion from Monday to Wednesday this week, the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) has shown.
Dar es Salaam. Foreign investors injected a total of Sh3 billion during the first three days of this week to transact Tanzania Breweries Ltd (TBL) shares.
The Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange report shows that during the first three days of this week, TBL counter transacted a total of 258,035 shares traded at weighted average price of between Sh12,900 and Sh13,000 per share in 23 deals.
The counter share price also increased by 0.78 per cent to Sh13,000 on Wednesday from Sh12,900 on Monday. During the period, the DSE recorded a total turnover of Sh3.91 billion from 3,725,564 shares traded in 76 deals of which more than 90 per cent were TBL transactions.
The foreign investors injected 97.5 per cent of the transactions or Sh3.81 billion through buying shares, while Sh98.67 million was bought by local investors.
DSE reports have also indicated that 71.4 per cent of the shares, which is equivalent to Sh2.79 billion were floated by foreigners, while local investors participated by 28.6 per cent of shares, which is equivalent to Sh1.05 billion of the selling value. CRCB bank sat second after recording a turnover of Sh508.8 million from Monday to Wednesday, the counter had 3,395,548 shares traded at weighted average price of Sh150 per share in 39 deals.
Other active counters on that period were National Investment Company (NICOL), Swissport Tanzania Ltd (SWISS), NMB Bank plc, Vodacom Tanzania, Tanzania Portland Cement Company, DSE plc and Mkombozi Commercial Bank (MKCB). Total market capitalisation has also increased by Sh245.2 billion to Sh19,790.14 billion on Wednesday from 14Sh19,544.94 billion on Monday while the domestic market capitalisation increased by Sh29.5 billion to Sh9,734.71 billion from Sh9,705.21 billion respectively.
The market capitalisations rise was caused by an increase in share price in various counters.
