JK appoints Bade new Taxman

Mr Bade holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Management from the University of Dar es Salaam (1995), a Master’s degree in Commercial Banking and Finance from Sydney University (1999). He is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Dar es Salaam. The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) now has a new boss -- Mr Rished Bade.

President Jakaya Kikwete has appointed Mr Bade the new Commissioner General for TRA. He takes over from Mr Harry Kitilya, who retired last December.

Prior to his new appointment, Mr Bade served as deputy Commissioner General. He was appointed to the post in September 2012.

A State House statement said President Kikwete made the appointment on Tuesday making it effective on the same day.

According to the press release signed by the Chief Secretary, Mr Ombeni Sefue, among other things, the President considered Mr Bade’s experience and other qualifications to make the appointment.

Mr Bade holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Management from the University of Dar es Salaam (1995), a Master’s degree in Commercial Banking and Finance from Sydney University (1999). He is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Before joining TRA, Mr Bade worked with other financial institutions, something which gave him wide experience in financial matters.

From 1995 to 2000, Mr Bade worked as an auditor in the commercial banks section of the Bank of Tanzania (BoT), from 2000 to 2001 he worked as credit manager with Akiba Commercial Bank.

Other positions include chief financial officer with Akiba Banking Corporation and a chief operations officer for Baclays (Uganda) until 2006.
