Dar es Salaam. Bongo Flava sensation Diamond Platnumz has once again proven why he remains one of Africa’s most dominant music stars.

Diamond wrapped up 2024 in style, solidifying his position as one of the most-streamed artists on major platforms, a testament to his unyielding influence in the fiercely competitive music industry.

Despite a year filled with new releases from both established and emerging artists, Diamond continued to hold his crown, proving his undying relevance on the global music scene.

His impressive streaming numbers reflect his unparalleled impact across various platforms.

Though Diamond only released three songs in 2024 – "Mapozi" at the start of the year, "Komasava" mid-year, and "Holiday" to close out the year – his presence in the industry was undeniable.

These tracks, alongside his ongoing collaborations, helped him maintain his top-tier status.

A year of unlimited success

While the number of solo releases may seem limited, Diamond's consistent dominance is evident through his collaborations and standout tracks.

In addition to his own hits, he made significant strides with high-profile partnerships.

Songs like "Nesa Nesa" featuring Rayvanny, "Wale Wale" with Zuchu, and "Ololufemi" with Jux have helped cement Diamond’s place at the forefront of the industry.

Streaming success across platforms

On Spotify, Diamond’s reach was phenomenal. According to the platform’s statistics, he had three of his songs ranked in the top ten most-streamed tracks of the year.

Leading the pack was "Komasava," which garnered an impressive 9 million streams.

His track "Mapozi," featuring Jay Melody and Mr Blue, came in third with 2.8 million streams, while "Komasava Remix," featuring Jason Derulo, secured fourth place with 2.5 million streams.

These streaming numbers highlight not only Diamond’s vast fanbase but also his ability to create music that resonates on a global scale.

Diamond’s dominance extends to Audiomack, where he continues to reign supreme with over 36.3 million streams.

His closest rival, Marioo, trails with 31.6 million streams, while other artists such as Harmonize, Zuchu, and Mbosso also racked up impressive numbers, but none came close to Diamond’s commanding lead.

On Boomplay, Diamond's success is undeniable. With a staggering 132 million streams, he stands at the top, far ahead of his competitors.

His song "Holiday" was not only the most-searched but also the top-trending song of the year, further cementing his influence on the platform.

Diamond’s dominance on Boomplay is clear, with Jay Melody, Marioo, Zuchu, and Harmonize following far behind, showcasing just how fiercely he continues to outshine the competition.

YouTube reign

When it comes to YouTube, Diamond Platnumz has no equal. The “Holiday” hitmaker closed 2024 with an astounding 440 million views, a record unmatched by any other Tanzanian artist.

His closest competitor, Rayvanny, earned 183 million views, followed by Zuchu with 168 million, Harmonize with 159 million, and Mbosso with 108 million views.

This impressive viewership reflects Diamond's ability to remain relevant and appeal to a diverse, global audience.

As 2024 draws to a close, Diamond has set the bar high, and the music world will be eager to see how he continues to shape the Bongo Flava scene in the years to come.
