Dar es Salaam. In a move that has left fans both thrilled and astonished, Tanzanian music superstar Diamond Platnumz has once again proven his knack for keeping his audience on their toes.

The "Waaah" hitmaker unexpectedly released the remix video for his latest hit single, "Komasava," featuring international pop sensation Jason Derulo, alongside Chley and Khalil Harrison, who were also part of the original version of the song.

Praising Diamond for his international collaboration, Gerson Msigwa, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Sports, noted that the ‘Komasava’ video was more than just an entertaining collaboration. It was a moment of cultural and national pride.

"Thank you so much, Diamond Platnumz, for elevating Tanzanians to these levels and introducing us to the global music world alongside a big name like Jason Derulo.

“This is HUGE," Msigwa posted on his Instagram account, a few hours after Diamond posted the video on his YouTube channel.

He further highlighted key elements from the video that elevate the country on a global stage, such as promoting the country's tourism, showcasing Maasai culture, highlighting investment opportunities, promoting the Swahili language, elevating Tanzanian musicians, and demonstrating the country's hospitality and faith.

The surprise drop of the remix video was masterfully executed.

It all started with a seemingly innocent social media post where Jason Derulo was seen participating in a trending dance challenge for ‘Komasava.’

Fans speculated it was merely a fun challenge or a casual shout-out, especially since the song had already been danced to by other famous artists worldwide, including Chris Brown, Swae Lee, and French Montana.

However, it soon became clear that this was not just any dance challenge but a teaser for the official remix video featuring the American star.

This isn't the first time Diamond has surprised his fans with a collaboration. His earlier release, ‘My Baby,’ included an unexpected feature with Nigerian artist Chike, which also came as a pleasant surprise to many.

In a stunning display of his star power, Diamond Platnumz also managed to shake up the Tanzanian YouTube trend charts.

Just a day before the release of the ‘Komasava’ remix, Marioo's video for ‘Hakuna Matata’ held the number one trending spot, amassing an impressive 308,000 views.

However, Diamond's release turned the tables. Within just nine hours of dropping the ‘Komasava’ remix video, it surged past Marioo's numbers, garnering a staggering 495,000 views and counting.

This swift ascent to the top spot underscores Diamond's immense popularity and the anticipation his releases generate among fans.

The collaboration with Jason Derulo, known for his smooth vocals and captivating dance moves, adds an international flair to ‘Komasava.’

For fans of Diamond Platnumz, this unexpected release is a delightful reminder of why they love the artist.

However, fans who are renowned across Africa for releasing impressive music videos have been eagerly waiting for the music video of this song, as the audio was released on May 3, 2024.
