Vietnam. Joheirry Mola Dominguez of the Dominican Republic has been crowned Miss World 2026, taking the coveted title at the pageant’s grand finale in Nha Trang, Vietnam, on September 5, 2026.
Mola emerged victorious from a field of 111 contestants at the international beauty pageant, securing the Dominican Republic’s second Miss World crown, 44 years after Mariasela Álvarez became the country’s first winner in 1982.
Spain’s Elisabeth Reynés was named first runner-up, while Malaysia’s Taanusiya Chetty finished as second runner-up.
The final six also included Vietnam’s Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc, Eritrea’s Snit Habteab Tewoldemedhin and South Africa’s Romanda Hombir, who represented the four continental regions in the final stage of the competition.
Mola, who represented the Dominican Republic, entered the competition with a background spanning education, journalism and modelling. According to the Miss World organisation, she holds a degree in Business Management and Administration from Universidad Iberoamericana and works as a Literature and Social Studies teacher, news correspondent and professional model.
She is also the founder and president of Voices of Tomorrow, an initiative focused on expanding English-language education for children and young people in vulnerable communities.
Her work in education and community service formed part of the wider platform she brought to the competition, where the Miss World organisation has continued to emphasise its ‘Beauty With a Purpose’ ethos.
Before travelling to Vietnam, Mola had also been involved in community initiatives in the Dominican Republic, including visits to children's homes and programmes supporting vulnerable young people.
Her profile also extends into broadcasting. She has worked as a correspondent for Univision New York and reported from the 2026 Premios Soberano awards in Santo Domingo, further strengthening her credentials as a communicator beyond the pageant stage.
Mola now succeeds Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri, who won the Miss World title in 2025.
The 2026 competition marked the first time Vietnam hosted Miss World, with contestants taking part in a series of challenges and activities before the field was narrowed to the final stages.
The next Miss World competition is scheduled to be held in Tanzania.
