Lady JayDee celebrates 22 years of Binti, announces new album set for 2025 release

Dar es Salaam. Tanzanian music icon Lady JayDee is celebrating a major milestone—her sophomore album Binti has officially turned 22 years old.

Released in 2003, the album remains one of the most influential projects in East African music.

Taking to social media to mark the anniversary, Lady JayDee expressed her gratitude for the album’s longevity.

"I wish this album a long life so it continues to entertain and comfort those who connect with its messages,” she wrote.

With standout tracks like "Siku Hazigandi," "Usiusemee Moyo," and "Distance," Binti not only showcased Lady JayDee’s lyrical depth but also cemented her reputation as a pioneer of Bongo Flava’s golden era.

As she celebrates over two decades of Binti, Lady JayDee has also made a major announcement—her 10th studio album is set for release in June 2025. 

She revealed that the project will be accompanied by a series of celebratory events, marking yet another milestone in her illustrious career.
