Dar es Salaam. Entrepreneur and director of Accelerate Group Bernice Fernandes, along with filmmaker and artist Idris Sultan are set to represent Tanzania at the upcoming Global Entrepreneurship Festival (GEF), one of the largest gatherings of entrepreneurs worldwide.

The festival, which will take place from November 22 to 24 in Akure, Nigeria, is expected to bring together over 5,000 participants from more than 67 countries and will feature 43 prominent speakers.

The event, anticipated to be inaugurated by Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will serve as a platform for entrepreneurs, business leaders, and innovators to promote business growth and exchange insights on entrepreneurship.

Ms Fernandes, who also serves as a board member of the Global Entrepreneurship Festival, and Sultan’s participation highlights Tanzania’s growing prominence on the international entrepreneurship stage.

Sultan expressed his excitement about the festival, emphasizing the importance of sharing creative and entrepreneurial experiences on a global scale.

“Being part of GEF is an incredible opportunity to showcase the potential of Tanzanian creativity and entrepreneurship on an international platform. It’s a chance to learn from others and to bring valuable insights back home that can help inspire and grow our industries,” he said.

Ms Fernandes also shared her enthusiasm, noting the significance of Tanzanian entrepreneurs engaging in such global events.

“This is more than just attending a festival; it’s about putting Tanzania on the global map for innovation and entrepreneurship.

By connecting with entrepreneurs from across the world, we’re building bridges that can open doors for Tanzanians in the business world,” Ms Fernandes said.
