Hearing of appeal against Bulaya poll victory today

Mwanza. An appeal against Bunda Urban MP Ester Bulaya (Chadema) by four residents who voted for CCM candidate Stephen Wasira during the 2015 parliamentary election will be heard today.
Three judges were appointed in the Court of Appeal last week to preside over the case in which the four supporters of the CCM candidate seek to unseat Ms Bulaya.
Mwanza High Court Registrar Francis Kabwe told the The Citizen that the appointed judges are: Salim Mbarouk, Augustine Mwarija and Shaaban Lila.
The case was filed by Bunda residents Magambo Masato, Janes Ezekiel, Ascetic Mlagila and Matwiga Matwiga.
According to Mr Kabwe, other respondents in the case are, the State Attorney and the election’s returning officer. The case is set to be heard today after Wasira’s voters appealed against the decision made by the High Court to declare Ms Bulaya winner on November 18.
High Court Judge Joel Chocha declared Ms Bulaya the legitimate MP for Bunda Urban constituency.
The controversy between Mr Wasira and Ms Bulaya began immediately after election results were announced on October 25, last year, and the case was filed a few days later.
