Samia makes new appointments and assigns ambassadors to Sweden and Mozambique

Dar es Salaam. President Samia Suluhu Hassan has made various appointments and assigned ambassadors to their respective duty stations, with Ambassador Mobhare Matinyi being appointed as Tanzania's Ambassador to Sweden.
Before this appointment, Ambassador Matinyi previously served as the Chief Government Spokesperson, and on December 8, 2024, he was appointed as an ambassador but had not yet been assigned a duty station.
According to a statement issued by the Director of Presidential Communications, Sharifa Nyanga, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, the President has appointed various leaders and assigned duty stations to ambassadors.
The statement, quoting Chief Secretary Ambassador Moses Kusiluka, also indicated that Ambassador Hamad Khamis Hamad has been appointed as Tanzania’s Ambassador to Mozambique.
In addition, The President has appointed Rachel Stephen Kasanda as District Commissioner of Masasi, replacing Lauteri John Kanoni, whose appointment has been revoked.
Meanwhile, Prof Jafari Ramadhani Kideghesho has been named Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Tanzania Wildlife Conservation Fund, while Ashraph Yusuph Abdulkarim has been appointed as the General Manager of the Kariakoo Market Corporation.
