JK to officiate at key association meeting

President Jakaya Kikwete is expected to officiate at the Southern African Broadcasting Association (Saba) annual meeting later this month.

According to the director general with Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC), Mr Clement Mshana, the meeting will take place in Arusha from 21 to 24, this month. “Saba has given Tanzania the honour of hosting the meeting this time around. Actually, TBC is the specific host of the 21st meeting to be conducted at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC). But this doesn’t mean that other local broadcasting media will be excluded,” Mr Mshana said.

The meeting’s slogan, he added, would be “the role of broadcasting media in promoting tourism” in which the country would use the opportunity to advertise and motivate the society on the three-out-of-seven Wonders of Africa available in Tanzania, which are Ngorongoro and Serengeti National Parks as well as Mount Kilimanjaro.
