Babati. The CCM presidential hopeful, Dr John Magufuli, has asked Manyara regional leaders to reallocate to wananchi plantations that have been reclaimed by the government from investors who have to develop them before the coming of the next government.
Speaking yesterday at Babati’s Kwaraa grounds, Dr Magufuli said the plantations had already been released to to the government as the thing to be done now is for those plantations to be reallocated to wananchi as President Jakaya Kikwete had directed.
Dr Magufuli vowed he will not condone unprofessionalism in his government, saying those in authority were supposed to execute their duties by reallocating those plantations to the people.
“I will deal with the hopeless government executives as I will not be ready to transfer anyone to Hanang’ from Babati just because he has messed up things there.
“I will deal with those lazy executives,” Dr Magufuli stresed.
Dr Magufuli also promised the residents of Babati that his government will upgrade 20km roads in Babati town and the Babati-Kondoa road in Dodoma.
“These are the things I promise you, residents of Manyara; there was someone who used to go to his home town of Hanang’ and he was in a government position for more than 10 years but he failed to tarmac this road until Mary Nagu did it for you, however, that man the CCM government has nothing to do with CCM now,” he said. Babati Urban seat aspirant Kisyeri Chambiri requested Dr Magufuli--if elected president--to help them solve the problem of water scarcity in Malangii, Kiongozi and Managa villages.
“Dr Magufuli, after you have been sworn in, we ask you to help us in improving our hospital designed to cater for 99,000 patients, but now it handles 300,000 patients from the whole Babati District, we need its budget to increased including drugs,” Chambiri said.
For his part, Babati Rural Parliamentary Seat aspirant Vrajlal Jituson called upon residents of the area to vote for Dr Magufuli as well as for CCM councilors so that the former could work well just as the fourth phase government.
