Sh54 bn maritime security centre on the way

Upon the completion of the project will improve security for passengers, fishermen and other maritime vessels in Africa’s largest fresh water Lake.

Mwanza. A total of Sh54 billion will be spent in the construction of  the East Africa Maritime Security Coordination Center in Lake Victoria, Mwanza.

 Lake Victoria Basin Commission (LVBC) senior security officer Mr Gerson Fumbuka made the announcement during a meeting between maritime stakeholders in Mwanza.

According to Mr Fumbuka, the money for the implementation of the project is a loan from African Development Bank (AfDB).
