ACT-Wazalendo ward councilor to spend five months in jail for assault

Mwanga ward councilor Mr Clayton Chipando, aka Baba Levo

Kigoma. Mwanga ward councilor Mr Clayton Chipando, aka Baba Levo, has been sentenced to a five-month jail term after being found guilty of assaulting a traffic police officer.

The ruling was delivered by Mwandiga primary court on Thursday August 1, 2019.

Magistrate Florence Ikolongo, who read the judgment, said due to evidence presented by defense and prosecution side the court find Mr Ikolongo, who is also a Bongo Flava artiste, guilty of committing the offence, which is against Chapter 16 section 209 of the penal code.

Mr Chipando committed the offence on July 15, 2019, when he attacked F.8350 PC Msafiri Mponela, while discharging his duties.
