Aga Khan funeral set for Saturday

The funeral ceremony for His Highness Prince Karim al-Hussaini Aga Khan IV will take place on Saturday at the Ismaili Centre in Lisbon, Portugal.
The ceremony, which starts at 11am, will be open only to invited guests including members of the Aga Khan family, leaders of the global Ismaili community and the Aga Khan Development Network, international dignitaries and officials of the Portuguese government and State authorities.

Thereafter, the Aga Khan IV, the 49th Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, will be laid to rest at a private burial ceremony in Aswan, Egypt, on Sunday, 9th February.
Meanwhile, the homage ceremony to Prince Rahim al-Hussaini Aga Khan V, the new spiritual leader of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, will take place in Lisbon on Tuesday, 11th February.
The Aga Khan V will grant an audience to senior leaders of the Ismaili community, who will pledge their allegiance, on behalf of the global Ismaili community, to the 50th Imam of the Ismaili Muslims in a private religious ceremony.
His Highness Prince Karim Al-Hussaini Aga Khan IV, the 49th Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, was the founder and chairman of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). He passed away on Tuesday in Lisbon, Portugal, at the age of 88.
