Dar es Salaam. Airtel Tanzania has partnered with the Trace Awards and Summit 2025, a three-day event set to take place at Mora Resort in Zanzibar from February 24 to 26, 2025.

The event will celebrate African music, innovation, and culture, bringing together some of the continent’s biggest music icons.

Speaking during the announcement in Dar es Salaam, Airtel Tanzania’s Marketing Director, Ms Timea Chogo, said the partnership aligns with the company’s commitment to supporting digital connectivity and creative talent.

“The Trace Awards and Summit is a globally recognized platform that promotes African music and culture while driving digital inclusion. Our collaboration complements Airtel Tanzania’s ‘SmartaWithData’ campaign, which helps customers optimize their data usage for better connectivity and value,” said Ms Chogo.

She said that the partnership aims to provide young artists and digital consumers with opportunities to thrive in an increasingly connected world.

As part of the initiative, Tanzania will host the Trace Tour, which has already made successful stops in Kenya and other Airtel markets. The tour will offer artists and fans an interactive platform to engage with the digital and entertainment industries.

Trace East Africa Managing Director, Mr. Danny Mucira, underscored the power of music in bridging cultures and creating opportunities for emerging artists.

“Music is a universal language. Through this partnership, we are equipping African musicians with the digital tools and audience reach they need to succeed,” he said.

On his part, Serengeti Managing Director, Dr. Obi Anyalebechi, emphasized the event’s potential to boost Tanzania’s tourism sector, noting that it will attract a global audience.

“Tourism is a key pillar of Tanzania’s economy. Hosting a world-class event like this will enhance the country’s visibility and contribute to the goal of increasing annual visitors from three million to ten million by 2030,” he said.

The Trace Awards and Summit 2025, powered by Airtel Tanzania, is expected to be a landmark event celebrating African music, culture, and digital transformation.
