Amin Mawji presents credentials as AKDN Diplomatic Representative to Tanzania

The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, David Cosato Chumi (MP), has received Letters of Introduction from Amin Mawji, the newly appointed Resident Representative of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Tanzania.
Chumi received the credentials on behalf of the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo.
In his remarks, Chumi congratulated Mawji on his appointment and assured him of the Ministry’s full cooperation as he undertakes his duties.
He also commended AKDN for its significant contributions to poverty alleviation, strengthening education, improving healthcare services, and preserving cultural heritage in both Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar.
For his part, Mawji expressed his gratitude to the Government of Tanzania for its effective implementation of AKDN projects and pledged to continue strengthening this collaboration. He emphasised ongoing cooperation particularly in the fight against cancer in East Africa, climate change research, and environmental conservation in partnership with universities both within and outside the country, including institutions in Canada and Germany.
Mawji succeeds Amin Kurji, whose term as AKDN Resident Representative in Tanzania has come to an end.
