Azam dismiss Didier Kavambagu departure rumours

Burundian Azam FC stricker, Didier Kavumbagu.

What you need to know:

“I am surprised to read about it… that Kavumbagu is leaving the team. What I know is that all our players are on holiday, and they will all report for duty on July 1,” said Azam FC chief executive officer Saad Kawemba.

Dar es Salaam. Azam FC have dismissed as “mere rumours” reports that Didier Kavumbagu was on the verge of joining Mbeya City.

“I am surprised to read about it… that Kavumbagu is leaving the team. What I know is that all our players are on holiday, and they will all report for duty on July 1,” said Azam FC chief executive officer Saad Kawemba.

“We will only be clear about who is in and who is out at the end of this month,” he told The Citizen in an interview yesterday.

Kavumbagu has been at the centre of rumours also linking him with a move to Simba. He’s also been rumoured to be currently in Vietnam for trials with a top division side.
