Bolt expands its operations to Morogoro following the launch of the Standard Gauge Railway
Morogoro, Bolt, a ride hailing company has on August 13, announced that it is expanding of its operations to Morogoro.
This move comes following the recent launch of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) operations from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro, which has significantly enhanced connectivity and accessibility between the two major cities, fostering economic growth and mobility.
With the SGR now operational, Morogoro is poised to become a key transit hub, attracting increased business activities and tourism.
Bolt says it is committed to supporting this growth by providing reliable, safe, and convenient transportation solutions to residents and visitors alike.
Dimmy Kanyankole, general manager, rides said they are thrilled to extend their services to Morogoro, a vibrant city with immense potential.

Bolt has already signed drivers up to the platform in Morogoro, and is incentivising passengers to use the platform by offering 50 percent discount on their first rides.
Other benefits to this expansion include enhanced mobility through easy access to transportation, provision of safe and reliable transportation as well as stimulating local businesses and contributing to the economic development of Morogoro and its environs.
Drivers who would wish to join Bolt will need a valid Tanzanian driver’s license, an Android or iOS smartphone with GPS, and undergo an onboarding/training program.
