Cancer patients to receive treatment at KCMC

This was revealed yesterday by KCMC director Dr Gilliard Masenga shortly after the archbishop-elect of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (KKKT),  Dr Fredrick Shoo marked the area  the cancer unit would be constructed.

Moshi.  The management of the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC) in Kilimanjaro Region is in the process of establishing a cancer ward.

This was revealed yesterday by KCMC director Dr Gilliard Masenga shortly after the archbishop-elect of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (KKKT),  Dr Fredrick Shoo marked the area  the cancer unit would be constructed.

Dr Masenga, who is a gynecologist, said they cooperated with   the ministry of health and cancer-related institutions when setting up the cancer unit.

According to statistics  1502 cancer patients have visited the hospital to receive treatment between August, 2013 to February, 2015.

Dr Masenga explained that the cancer unit, upon completion, would serve about 12 million patients predominantly from Northern Zone areas of  Manyara, Arusha, Tanga and Kilimanjaro regions.
