CCM vice chair legacy 1977–2024 as the party awaits successor

As CCM prepares to select a successor for Abdulrahman Kinana during its General Meeting scheduled for January 18 and 19 in Dodoma, here is a list of individuals who have previously held this esteemed vice chair within Tanzania's ruling party:

- Aboud Mwinyi (1977 to 1984)
- Hassan Mwinyi (1984 to 1990)
- Rashid Kawawa (1990 to 1992)
- John Malecela (1992 to 2007)
- Pius Msekwa (2007 to 2012)
- Phillip Mangula (2012 to 2019)
- Abdulrahman Kinana (2019 to 2024)

Each of these leaders played a significant role in shaping the direction and fortunes of CCM over the years. Their leadership spans critical periods in Tanzania's political evolution, including transitions of power and pivotal moments for the party. 

As CCM now seeks a new vice chair, the legacy of these leaders remains an important part of the party’s rich history.
