Chadema takes Mbeya District Council from CCM

Chadema has won 26 out of 36 civic seats in Mbeya according to the district returning officer Dr Samuel Lazaro.

Mbeya. Chadema has won 26 out of 36 civic seats in Mbeya according to the district returning officer Dr Samuel Lazaro.

 Dr Lazaro reports that CCM has emerged victorious in nine wards, while the tenth ward missed out of the voting process. The results means that Chadema will lead the Mbeya district council which was previously under the ruling party (CCM).

 Dr Lazaro said election was not held in Uyole ward following the death of CCM candidate for the seat in September.
