Dar es Salaam and 14 regions brace for heavy rains

Dar es Salaam. The Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) has issued a warning for heavy rainfall, starting today, January 5, and persisting through January 6th, 2024.
This weather change is expected to impact not only Dar es Salaam but also 14 other regions, potentially causing floods and disruptions to economic activities.
The affected regions include Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Manyara, Tanga, Pwani and the Mafia Islands, Songea, Njombe, Ruvuma, Morogoro, Lindi, Mtwara, and Unguja.
"People should be prepared as the rains could lead to localized flooding and disruption of some economic activities," TMA stated in a weather advisory.
The authority emphasizes the importance of staying informed and taking necessary precautions.
They assure the public that they will continue to issue daily weather updates to help residents prepare and adapt to the changing conditions.
