Deaths toll from floods in Hanang rises to 20

Hanang. The death toll from torrential rain-induced floods in Hanang District, Manyara Region, has risen to 20, the authorities have confirmed.

Hanang District Commissioner Ms Janeth Mayanja, who confirmed the latest fatalities, said 70 people have been injured by the floods, climbing from 12 people reported earlier.

The Hanang community is grappling with the aftermath of this devastating rainfall, and the full extent of the damage is yet to be determined.

Authorities continue to prioritize search and rescue operations while providing essential support to those affected by the floods.

In light of the situation, the DC has urged members of the community to remain calm as rescue efforts are ongoing.
