Arusha. Trade within the East African Community (EAC) rose by 37 per cent to $52.3 billion in the second quarter of 2026, driven largely by a sharp increase in mineral exports.
The performance marks a turnaround from the $945.3 million trade deficit recorded in the corresponding quarter last year, with exports growing faster than imports between April and June.
