Fire at Mwananchi Communications Ltd contained

Fire that broke out at one of Mwananchi Communications Ltd (MCL) stores in the production department on Tuesday evening has been contained.
Though the damage that the evening inferno may have caused remains unknown, there were no human fatalities recorded after all workers were safely evacuated.
The fire whose source is yet to be established broke out at about 1950Hrs, was later contained in a joint operation between the Fire Brigade and private security company SGA Security.
According to the company’s CEO Bakari Machumu who spoke immediately after normalcy returned, the cause of the fire remains unknown but the main concern was the safety of the people and the neighbourhood around Mwananchi Communications Ltd (MCL).
“Investigations are still ongoing and we shall release the findings the moment we get to the bottom of it in the earliest possible time,” he said
